Every September, Vigan City celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. This month-long festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world, aims to strengthen the pride in the city's history and culture , promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community's involvement in the city's various activities that highlights love for culture arts and entertainments.
To preserve the heritage of the City, the city government established an event where all of it's residents called Biguenos to come out of their ancestral or modern-age haouses to join other residents of Ilocos Sur to once more relish the Ilocano culture and the history of Vigan through song, dances, stage plays, literature, street drama complete with floats
Celebrating the culture of Asian and other countries is also part of uniting with other World Heritage Cities.
