Essence of Christmas

This Christmas season, it is important for us to bear in our minds the reason why we are celebrating this yuletide season in the first place. In this month of December, it is a must for us to remember that our Lord came in this world in order to save us from our sins; He came to redeem us from the wickedness of this world.

We also have to recollect the fact that our Lord God is humble being born only in a manger. This is the message that is sent to us - we must learn how to humble ourselves, no matter how rich or financially wealthy we are because Christ himself symbolizes humility. Even though He is a son of God, He did not demanded for a special “birthing place” or become “man” in a wealthy family; instead, He was born in a poor family.

Anyway, the essence of celebrating Christmas season is not to have a house full of Christmas lights, having a tall and beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts underneath it and giving expensive gifts. Christmas basically means sharing what you have, not just the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others.

As life continue to grow with outstanding achievements, there are also dark sides in this society. The more this community get developed, the more complicated it would be. Each year passed by, we have to face with many issues. Some of them are small, but some are not. Some problems caused the whole world to think and still not yet fixed. And violence against women is among them. Many women have to suffer from pain, both in physical and mental, without knowing how to stop or getting help from the others. No matter how many times women beg for help, society turns a blind eye to them, families put pressure on them, and people around trampled on them, make them realized that they don’t have a voice in this world.

Environment Awareness Month

Environmental awareness is an integral part of the movement’s success. By teaching our friends and family that the physical environment is fragile and indispensable we can begin fixing the problems that threaten it.

Damaged to environment is caused by the activities of individuals who are not conscious and who do not have adequate knowledge of the environment. For example, when we cut forests on a large scale to get timber and fuel wood or clear land for agriculture, we damage the environment.

There is no doubt that agriculture is essential, grazing of animals is unavoidable, forests have to be harvest for their produce, industries and thermal power plants have to be set up, dams have to be built and automobiles have to run for transporting people and goods. We cannot do away with these.

Children's Month

National Children’s Month is celebrated every October here in the Philippines.  Mandated by Presidential Proclamation 267, it is a time to recognize the value of Filipino Children as the most valuable assets in the society.  Observed by Government and Non-Government agencies around the Philippines,  the month-long celebration is also a campaign to end violence against children and to promote their physical, emotional, moral, spiritual and intellectual well-being.

Stairway marked National Children’s Month with plenty of enjoyable and inspiring activities for the children. The month ended with a wonderful awards ceremony recognizing the talents and personal achievements of the children.

Values Month

November  is “Filipino Values Month.” It seeks to promote greater consciousness of values that are uniquely and positively Filipino – love of God and country, strong family ties, care and respect for elders, diligence, patience, loyalty, hospitality, bayanihan, generosity, regard for personal honor and dignity.

The observance is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 479 dated October 7, 1994. Activities to celebrate the event include poster-making, slogan contests, fun run, lectures, cooking tilts, dance contests, and essay writing in schools.

Values are the roots of traditions that Filipinos find important in their day-to-day events. They are instilled early in life, are deeply ingrained, and are resistant to change. They are developed from people’s direct experiences with others who are important to them, such as parents, teachers, friends, and classmates.

The family is at the forefront of instilling values among Filipino youth, with the home as the place for nurturing and strengthening values. Schools reinforce these values by providing opportunities for the youth to observe the values that they have imbibed at home and in their interactions with peers and superiors.

UN Celebration 2k19

On October 24, 1945, 51 countries came together to create the United Nations, or the U.N.. Its purpose was to promote peace and cooperation around the world. Today the United Nations is an organization made up of 193 countries, almost every nation in the world!

United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the UN Charter’s entry into force, and celebrates everything that the UN represents and has achieved since its establishment in 1945. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.

Each year, the global network of UN Information Centres organizes a variety of events to mark UN Day. Activities range from ceremonies, seminars, panel discussions, symposiums to series of briefings for students, art competitions, rallies, film screenings and book/photo exhibitions, media campaigns- including interviews and newspaper supplements- and social media campaigns.

2nd Grading Reflexion

In my 2nd quarter in ICT class, I've gained a lot of lessons about html. I've learned the many types of html tags and the uses of this tags. I've also learned what is the  notepad. Learning and doing our activities in 2nd quarter in ICT is very enjoyable.

My Hero

Teachers’ Day is celebrated with immense zeal in various schools across India on the 5th of September each year. It is a day to pay respect to the teachers and thank them for their efforts and hard work they put in every day, all round the year to nurture the students.

Every school comes up with different activities to celebrate this special day. Some of the common activities that form a part of the Teachers’ Day celebration in schools include enacting the part of one’s favourite teacher, dance performances, skits and fancy dress competitions. The teachers are made to sit comfortably as audience while the students give these performances to entertain them and add joy to this special day.

To add to the fun element, teachers are made to play games such as passing the parcel, musical chairs, dumb charades and dancing statue. This creates an atmosphere of joy and laughter. Some schools also organize activities that allow the teachers and students to participate together and work as a team.

Teachers’ Day is certainly the day which offers a respite from the mundane school routine and gives the opportunity to indulge in light joyful activities. It is a great time to strengthen the student teacher bond.

Intramurals 2k19

Intramurals are fun, recreational, social and competitive on-campus sports activities for Bryant University students and staff. These are designed with the everyday athlete, just like you, in mind. This is a great opportunity for you to have some fun and to try that new sport you've always wanted to learn! We have everything from the traditional sports like soccer and volleyball to less mainstream sports like field hockey and dodgeball.

It's easy to get involved. For team sports it's best to put your own team together. What better way is there to have fun with your friends or to meet new people? Put some signs up in your dorm, department, or apartment inviting people to play on your team.

Our Intramurals is held last September 18-20, 2014. There are many sports that ISNHS Intramurals have. Like volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, athletics and also the board games such as chess and scrabble. And there are some booths like horror, marriage, and message.

Have you ever thought why people do sports? Absolutely, many people seem not to know the reasons. As a anectode, there are many people who do sports for nothing around us. Everyday we can encounter with these people. They regularly do sports; however, none of them realizes the benefits and importance of sports. In fact, vice versa, some people want to be fit and attractive, look smart. Unfortunately, these people can’t consider other benefits of sports. In my opinion, there are several benefits of sports that people often do not consider: sports are required to be healthy people, are needed for enjoyment, and are great market for countries’ economies.

Science Month Celebration

We all know that Science is everywhere and somewhere, anything and everything, somebody or someone. Let me first take an introduction to refresh our minds about it. According to the Spark Notes of Science Discoveries, Science is everything that surrounds us. It's to discover Information about this world we live in , study information, problems, hypothesis and conclusions, a process that has started long long time ago and will continue in the near future and in generations to come. Everything in our world that we use somehow or someway was made by science. It started with discovering something now then study what can it be capable of. Science has taken to us to an entirely new place. From batteries to computers, to better gas mileages, there was just been huge breakthrough in Science. It is in both chemistry and physics. In chemistry there is discovering elements using chemical bonding. In physics there are already discovered laws and properties such as gravity, motion, speed, force, acceleration etc.  Whether the discovery is 200 years old , 100 years old or present, It's Science nonetheless. Science is all around us, from laptops that we use, car that we drive. Science is to discover information about our Natural world and even about space to help us understand our  Existence.

Sigh Science! That was the basic fact and Information (I mean long Intro) about Science. Maybe you have told yourself "Oww" Science is really amazing and Yes, you're probably true!
Now, to tell you, there are various I mean a lot of activities that are implemented in our school because it is the Science Club Month Celebration. From the very first day of the month, the students of Ilocos Sur National High School opens the month with flying of balloons. What a big event. It must really a bid day to all. They all announced the activities such as Photo Envy, Essay and Poem Making Contest, Poster and Slogan making, Pet Show, Science Quiz and many other more.

This activities are not created not only to enhance the skills of the students and their thinking abilities but also yielding the National Wellness of the school and create an impact of good communication. My idea on this purpose of activities is "cooperation, Unity Valuable Knowledge and creativity should be on the students for them to portray and show to every activity that they will be participating to apply it in the near future. But this are not only qualities to be added on their work but should be their greatest medium in their work. there they should apply them all and so their work will be done in a positive manner.
